Rivalry Dinner

We invited our wonderful friends, The Carlson's, over for dinner on Saturday night. There was just one problem - they're Aggies! Fortunately, the game wasn't televised because we would have been quite embarrassed! We did keep up with the score throughout the night, which kept looking worse and worse for Texas Tech. As always, we had a lot of fun with them, and Hudson enjoyed playing with Kelsey.

It's Fun to be One!

Okay, here are the pics that everyone has been asking about! I finally got them all together. His party turned out perfect, and we are so happy that all of Hudson's family and friends could join us on his special day! Hudson had a wonderful time, and he enjoys all of his fun new gifts! Thanks to everyone who made his day exceptional! It's Fun to be One!

Play Date at the Bounce House

This month's play date was at the bounce house! Hudson didn't know what to think of it at first, but he started to warm up after watching the other kids jump and run around. He even went up to the top and slid down the slide with Mommy!

Dancing Baby Arnold

Today, Matthew, Hudson and I were able to enjoy the newest addition to our family on an ultrasound. We had fun watching the baby's movement and viewing all the body parts (although it's still too early to see the "gender parts"... we have a few more weeks before we can find that out). Baby was very active today - dancing all over the place, and the heart rate was 180, which is a good strong heartbeat. The doctor said that everything looks great! Here are a couple pics of today's sono.

Fall Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

Today, Hudson and I went to the pumpkin patch at the Arboretum with our wonderful friends Jill, Kelsey & Trevor. We had so much fun walking through the pumpkins of all different shapes, sizes and colors! They also had a petting zoo with goats, ponies, sheep, bunnies, chickens and a cow! We will have to make a tradition of this every year!

Here are some pics of Hudson enjoying a few of his new birthday gifts: his Police Car from Memere & Opa, his wagon from Mimi & Papa, and all of his fun new bath toys!

Talking Toddler

Now that Hudson is a year old, he jabbers constantly! He acts like he is trying to have a conversation with us; although we can only understand a few words. Right now, he is regularly saying: Mama, Dada, Ball and Dog (which sounds more like "dot" or sometimes "goggy")

Hudson is also learning all of Mommy's facial features! Last month he learned Mommy's nose, and now he can also point to Mommy's ear and mouth. In fact, he is learning new things everyday, such as pointing to his boat in the tub, the pig on his toys, or other different objects in the books we read to him.

Many of Hudson's new birthday toys play music, which Hudson will dance along with using his hands. He looks like a little conductor as he does this.

Hudson found a new fun game to play while eating his meals... One morning, I heard him giggling in his highchair and turned around to find him dropping pieces of his food on the ground for Misha. He thinks it's hilarious to watch her gobble it up. We expect Misha will starting gaining a few pounds now. Although, Hudson gives her more exercise lately by playing with her. He enjoys bringing her toy to her and playing tug-a-war, which Misha is thrilled with except Hudson isn't very strong yet so Misha always wins.

No walking yet, but he is learning to balance better while standing. We don't expect walking very soon as he doesn't seem interested right now. Why learn that when you can just as easily crawl everywhere, right?

Our Story

As our family continues to grow with our new addition expected in April, we welcome you to our blog to share in all of our adventures. This is our story of love, traditions, fun and memories. As most of you know, Matthew and I have been married for 4 years, and last year God blessed us with an amazing gift - Hudson, our 1 year old son. We have thoroughly enjoyed this past year watching him grow into such a charming and handsome little man. He has a loving heart and delightful disposition. You will also probably hear a lot about Misha, our puppy dog... Her funloving personality brings lots of laughter and joy into our home. I am 10 weeks pregnant with our second bundle of joy who will join us in April. We hope you enjoy riding along on our journey!
