The Easter Bunny left each boy a basket full of goodies, including their very own Bible, CDs, a squirt gun, brand new cups for Hudson, cars, a tractor, a dog bubble machine for Luke, a mickey bouncy ball and, of course, candy! In addition, they each got a chocolate bunny- Hudson's was a basketball bunny and Luke's was Peter Rabbit. Hudson got some new jammies and Luke a new backpack (these backpacks are perfect for them to wear to sunday school; just the right size to fit their necessities). The Easter Bunny also left a big surprise gift - a car track that has been a hit! So much so that the boys have had a difficult time playing nice with it. There has been some fighting over this toys including pushing and throwing cars at each other. Needless to say, we are now learning how to play nice.
Luke really enjoyed playing and shaking the eggs. I turned around for a few seconds to Hudson, and when I turned back around Luke had opened one of the eggs and was eating the Butterfinger chocolate eggs, foil wrapper and all! I scooped three of them out of his mouth that he was chomping on, and chocolate was all over his face and jammies (hence the dirty jammies in the pics).
Drinking from his super cool new cups!
Hudson loved his basket!
I need water to squirt you Mommy!
Luke really enjoyed playing with the eggs!
Playing with the car track
All of this chocolate just for me?
No need to take off the wrapper, I'll eat it all!
This is about two seconds before a fight broke out over sharing the car track.
On a side note: When changing Luke into his church clothes that morning, we discovered that Luke was covered in hives. My first inclination was that he is allergic to chocolate, since he had just eaten some. However, when I talked to the on-call nurse, she instructed me to stop the amoxicillin he was taking for an ear infection because it could also be that. Well last night he didn't sleep well at all. Waking up every hour or so. So I took him to the doctor today, and he has a very bad ear infection in his other ear! The doctor said that we can't tell yet if amoxicillin is the culprit. She pretty much eliminated chocolate though, since I've given it to him a couple times in the past. She said it could even be a reaction to the infection or a little virus. She said it's so hard to tell with hives, but we'll keep a close eye on him. Luke's one year check-up is next week, and she wants me to bring the amoxicillin in so we can give it to him while in the office to check if he breaks out. In the meantime, we started another antibiotic today for the ear infection in his other year. I'm praying it works; he's had a tough day! I'm enjoying the cuddling though!
