Go Gators!

Yesterday was the Gators first game!  Hudson had a lot of fun, and the team did great!  It was so cute because during most of the game you could count approximately 5 or so parents out on the field with the kids.  I think it was the first season for the players on the opposite team because most of those players had to be coaxed by their parents to play on the field.  The Gators played great! During the first half, Hudson was more interested in kicking up grass and playing on the circle in the middle of the field, but during the second half he got more invovled in the game and even kicked the ball twice that wasn't a sideline kick.

Unfortunately, Matthew was away this weekend canoeing with his buddies, so he didn't make it to the game.  But he called right when the game was over anxiously wanting to hear how it went.  I made sure to record a lot of Hudson's field time, so Matthew could watch when he gets home.  However, Mimi and Papa came to support their little soccer player!  Memee and Opa were also out of town, so they will have to catch the next game.

Cute story:  One of the girls from the opposite team was very interested in Hudson.  She tried talking to him, and I caught her looking at him sometimes as well.  She even put her arm around at one point.  But Hudson wanted nothing to do with her.

Even though Matthew was gone yesterday, our fun never stopped!  After the game, we went home for lunch and a quick nap before heading out for an afternoon of celebrations.  We had two birthday parties, and both were at a park.  Luckily, yesterday was a perfect day to be outdoors!  The boys were both exhausted when we got home last night after being in the sun all day and coming down from a sugar high.  It was bath time and off to bed with no objections! This gave Mommy a nice evening alone to rest and watch a chick flick!  We had a fun weekend with just the three of us, but we're excited for Daddy to come home today!
