Final Trimester

Today marks the first day of my last trimester, which Mommy is very glad about! This time around I am much more tired than I was with Hudson. This is probably because I am busy all day with Hudson that it wears me out. Also, lately, my body has gotten into a bad habit of waking up anywhere around 1-4 in the morning and having trouble going back to sleep (note: time of this post). Of course, once morning comes around and it's time for me to get up, I'm back dead asleep wanting to snooze for several more hours!

I had my regular check-up appointment on Tuesday, and everything still looks great. At this appointment, I had to do that "fun" glucose test when you drink the disgusting sugary drink. I learned my lesson this time around and didn't eat a bowl of cereal beforehand like I did last time. Last pregnancy, I had to go back and do the 3 hour glucose test, which was a HORRIBLE experience....Three hours in the waiting room with nothing in my stomach, having to drink one of those drinks every hour (4 total) and get my blood drawn like 5 times. I was so faint and lightheaded by the end of it that I had to go lay down on the sofa the last hour. All of that, and my results came back normal, and to think... if I just wouldn't have eaten that bowl of cereal before the first test to alter my results!

Dr. Williams said that at my next check-up (in 3 weeks) she will give me the exact day that the C-section will be scheduled, which will be around April 27-29th sometime.

Luke's movement has become much more distinct and often. He's much different than Hudson was. When I was pregnant with Hudson, I would often worry about him because I could go a day or two without feeling him. However, it has been much different with Lucas. He moves all the time! His movements are also different than Hudson's - Hudson's were slow and smooth for the most part...as if he was just changing positions; Luke's are sharp and quick. We might have a little fireball on our hands!

Lucas has also been crowding my ribs and diaphram quite a bit now, which causes me to be short of breath often, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep, which is one reason I keep waking up.

I am thankful that the weather has been cool because at this point in my last pregnancy it was miserable outside, which caused me to swell much more than I have this time around.

We are now making headway getting Luke's room ready. I'm very excited about it! The colors will be black, white and sage with pandas as the main theme. I might add some zebras in there too as we go along. I ordered the bedding and picked out the furniture (which we are ordering this weekend). The lady who is making the bedding sent me a swatch of the fabric so I can match paint, which is my next task... to get the room painted! I can't wait to get it all set up!

Well, I'm off to see if I can now catch some zzz's!
