The Pumpkin Express

Today we ventured out for some more pumpkin picking fun! After enjoying a family breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, we headed to a pumpkin patch in Flower Mound that I had heard about. However, when driving up it didn't look very much fun, and it was miserably crowded, so we opted out of this one to try something else... The Pumpkin Express. Boy are we glad we did!! We've been to three different pumpkin patches in the past couple years, and this was our favorite by a long shot! We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, the nice huge open area for the pumpkin patch fun, lots of fun things to do, and as an added bonus, it wasn't overly crowded which gave plenty of space to play and enjoy the scenery! I heard about this place last year, but we didn't make it out there, so I'm glad we discovered it this year. We decided that this will be our regular pumpkin patch to visit each year.

You enter The Pumpkin Express through the train depot and then ride the 10 minute ride through fields, around a duck filled lake, over bridges, under trees and then arrive at the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful, peaceful and a thoroughly enjoyable ride.

When you arrive, each kid gets to pick out their very own small pumpkin and a sucker. The patch is stocked with little red wagons for pumpkin picking along with a bunch of things to do with the kids. There is a hay maze, play train, a variety of playhouses, jump houses, a teeter totter, a "haunted house" (that wasn't too scary for the kids), a hay “stack”, and of course, the train. Other than the train ride, Hudson's favorite part, by far, was the hay maze! He was running all through it, and when he came to a dead end, he'd shout "No" laughing while turning around to find another path. I really enjoyed watching him conquer this! After about 5 minutes of doing it himself (with Mommy and Daddy watching from outside), he got frustrated and a little scared since he could see us, so I joined him running through each direction with him until he found his way out.

There were also tons of fun exhibits and things to look at (which each Mommy out there considers a great photo op).

We can't wait to visit The Pumpkin Express next year! At that time, Luke and Huds will be running through the maze together!

All ready for some fall fun...

Pretty scenery!
When the train dropped us off at the patch, we followed Hudson to wherever he wanted to go...
