Luke is 17 months old today! What we will remember about Luke at 17 months:
- He is wearing 12-18 month and 6-12 month clothing, size 5 shoe and size 4 diaper.
- When he went to the dentist last week after his fall (see "breaking news" section of the previous Arnold Weekly post), he told me that Luke has 8 teeth left to come in, and his canines are next.
- He likes to say "tickle, tickle, tickle". I've heard this about the second, and it seems to be true for Luke- That a second child will often skip saying many single words and go straight to short phrases/sentences. I've noticed that he is doing this. His vocabulary includes many short phrases.
- Luke loves to sing along with songs as well as dance. Two of his favorites are "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Old McDonald".
- He loves to kick the ball around! Ever since Hudson started soccer, Luke has begun kicking the ball around the house, and last week he was kicking it all around the field during Hudson's soccer practice.
- He is learning how to catch, and is able to catch a large ball.
- Luke is very mischievous. He loves to explore and get into things. On a daily basis, I can catch him in his room (with his door closed so nobody can see him), throwing all of his diapers, lotions and anything else he finds in his changing table into his hamper. We've also found his shoes in our kitchen trash a few times this month. It wouldn't surprise me if those ever end up thrown out and we never see them again.
- He is now a picky toddler and doesn't eat nearly as much as he used to, but he loves to snack! His favorite things still include fruit, vegetables, cheese and yogurt. Like his brother, meat is usually the last thing eaten. He also doesn't like chocolate milk but loves regular.
- After becoming very familiar with time outs, Luke is starting to be more obedient and making large strides toward eliminating his screaming.
