Several blocks in our neighborhood got together for a block party this evening. The best part was that it was held right in front of our driveway, which was very convenient! We barricaded the entire horeshoe street, so we could set up a bounce house in the middle of the street along with grills and tables. We all brought food for our families to grill out as well as a side to share. I made pilgrim hat cookies, along with cheesy scalloped potatoes and a shrimp dip to share. I have been to a girl's night dinner with several of the other neighbors, but the guys have never gotten together, so it was nice for Matthew to visit with the other dads. Hudson made a new friend, Addy. She actually lives right next door! We've played and visited with them outside every once in a while but not often enough for Hudson to remember her. However, we plan to have future playdates with Hudson's new friend.
I didn't take any pictures while we were out there. Having too much fun to stop for that! But I did take one as we were setting up. (This is from standing in our garage.)
