Daddy 27

While we were playing this morning, Hudson stopped what he was doing and said, "Matthew 27".  I figured he learned this verse today in church, so I opened the Bible to Matthew Chapter 27 (figuring I could pick out which verse it was), and the title to this passage was "Judas Hangs Himself".  Thinking to myself, [Surely this isn't what they learned today].  So I asked Hudson again, "What verse did you learn about today?".  His reply, "Daddy 27".  I decided to check our newsletter from the children's center to see what their verse was...

"Jesus called a little child unto Him." Matthew 18:2

It seems Hudson was a little confused on the verse number, but when I recited it to him he knew exactly the verse I was talking about.  On the other hand, he had no problem remembering the book, Matthew, being it is also Daddy's name!  Since brother's name is also a book in the Bible, he will be good at remembering that one as well!

Hudson and Luke both came home with a craft reading "Jesus Loves [name]" from church this morning.  They are in different classes, but I could tell their focus this week was how Jesus loves each of them.  Well, this evening Hudson got a spanking from Daddy, and after the spanking Daddy was explaining to Hudson why he got in trouble.  As we always do after disciplining the boys, we reinforce that we love them very much even when they get in trouble.  After Matthew told Hudson that him and Mommy love him, he asked "Hudson who loves you?", expecting the answer to be "Mommy and Daddy".  Instead Hudson replied, "Jesus!"  What a great answer Hudson!
