Today, Lucas is 1 week old! Everything is going great so far - Luke has been quite easy and Hudson has transitioned wonderfully. He loves his baby brother! Luke pretty much just sleeps and eats right now. He is only awake for a few hours each day, and during this time he is content with wherever he is with just looking around. Nursing has gone perfect this time around with no problems. It's been so nice! I haven't started feeding him from a bottle yet... I probably won't start that for a couple more weeks.
It's amazing how giant Hudson seems right now! He has grown up so much in my eyes since we've brought Luke home. Not only his body, but he just seems so much more mature too!
Matthew went back to work on Tuesday, and it's just been me and the boys. I have to admit that I am getting cabin fever because I haven't gotten out much since I don't want to expose Luke to anything right now. Plus, it will be an adjustment to get two boys ready and out the door now! My mom was planning on helping out during these first few weeks, but, unfortunately, her and my dad have been sick, so they are staying away from the baby until they're all well. However, this might work out perfectly since Luke is really easy right now, and I'm sure this will change in the next couple weeks when I will need some help.
Our thoughtful family and friends have set up a care calendar to provide meals for us. This has been so nice, and I enjoy the company during the evenings.
Our wonderful friends in California, the Hendricks, sent Luke a little chair for his nursery to take pictures tracking his growth each month. Thanks Stephanie, Luke and Leah! We started out with 1 week pics for the first ones!
