Toddler or Teenager?

For the past few weeks, I have been asking Hudson if he's 19 months old or 19 years old. He was sleeping until anywhere from 10:30-11:30 in the morning AND taking his normal 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. He must have been going through a growth spurt. Just as I was about to start waking him up earlier to get him off this schedule, he began waking up closer to his normal time in the morning (between 8-9). It makes it much easier to go places (such as playdates with his friends) in the morning when he wakes up at a decent time!

Hudson is 20 months old today, and these are some things we will remember about Hudson at 20 months old:

  • He can say the entire alphabet (repeating it after Mommy)

  • Hudson loves to climb up and down onto chairs. It looks like I will need to get Hudson his own personal chair soon!

  • Hudson prefers to sit in his booster seat with us at dinner rather than his highchair.

  • Hudson now has daily conversations with Daddy on the phone. It is so cute to listen to Hudson talk to him. Their converstaions always include: Daddy telling him "I love you", and Hudson will say it back. Daddy also always asks him what a lion says, and Hudson will respond with "roar".

  • Hudson likes to bring Luke his paci and put it in his mouth. What a helpful big brother!

  • Hudson still loves to be a helper. He will often bring us items that are ours, such as our cell phone, our shoes or the remote control (even when we don't need them at that time). He almost always follows the act with saying "Big Boy" to himself.

  • Hudson is camera shy! Every time I point the camera at him telling him to say cheese, he will turn away laughing (and still say cheese). He might just be playing games with me, but he sure acts like he's shy and doesn't want a picture taken of him. This makes it quite difficult to get any photo of him right now, especially with him being so active!

  • He is becoming much more independent, wanting to do many things himself with no help, especially eating with his utensils.

  • Since the weather has been so nice lately, we've made several trips to the park with Hudson and his friends. He really enjoys this. One of his favorite things to do is climb up the slide and then slide back down. Daddy has also been taking Hudson to the park each weekend for some Daddy/son time. I don't think Hudson can ever spend too much time outdoors!
