Soaking in the Sun

That is exactly what we've been doing this past week - Soaking in the Sun!  Which is the reason that I am just now catching up on my posts... we've been on the GO!  On Friday, the boys and I ventured out to Denton to enjoy my cousin's new pool.  Hudson floated in his inner tube forever.  He enjoyed just relaxing while floating around.  We also practiced his swimming skills for the first time since last summer, and I was amazed that he still remembered!  I figured our little swimmer would need a few refresher courses, but nope.  Saturday morning we celebrated Trevor's "golden" birthday at the park and attended a memorial service that afternoon for Vicki's cousin, Ann, which Matthew was a pallbearer for.  After church on Sunday (before our big Independence Day celebration with our friends that evening) we went to the water park.  We decided to try one in Bedford that someone told Matthew about.  Although the boys had fun, we were not impressed.  It just seemed run-down, and there wasn't much to do. But at least the boys had a good time!  We quickly came home and got ready for our fireworks celebration that was a BLAST (see previous post).  Yesterday, the boys and I joined the Carlsons at the Hawaiian Falls water park, which was AWESOME!  This brand new park, which opened last month, is filled with things for the little kids and even the "big" kids (such as Matthew).  We relaxed on the lazy river (both boys in my tube with me), played in the wave pool, splashed around in the fountains and rode down several slides.  Hudson was a little cautious about going down the slides at first, but by the end of the day he was having a blast sliding down.  We had a fabulous time and will definitely be returning a few more times this year.  Being only 10 minutes from our house, this is a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and stay cool while doing so.  I'm contemplating buying a season pass, so I can take the kids during the week too.  We have some more "Fun in the Sun" days to look forward to this weekend!

Of course, I didn't bring my camera to the water parks, but I took a few pictures on Saturday with my phone.
